The Civil War in Nepal that lasted form 1996 to 2006 impacted the lives of thousands of men, women, and children. This website focuses on the effects of the war on education and how children were involved in this conflict. During this decade, students' and teachers' daily routines were interrupted by Maoist intrusions, violence, and kidnappings. This led to an increase in dropout rates and ultimately lower literacy rates and less trained teachers. However, there are currently organizations that are working to change this situation in Nepal and are making a difference one community at a time [4,5]
